The world's largest container ship orders once again fell to Jiangnan Shipbuilding
Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, won the construction contract for two 24000TEU ultra-large container ships. This is Jiangnan Shipbuilding's record of the largest number of container ships in the container ship industry after obtaining two 24000TEU ultra-large container ships at the end of 2019.
A total of 4 ultra-large container ships of 24000TEU signed this time were built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding and Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding. The buyer of the contract is Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. This signing is the specific implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement signed by China Shipbuilding Corporation and Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. on December 18.
This ship type adopts the latest design of Hudong Zhonghua, and it is currently the world's largest container ship with the largest amount of containers and the largest carrying capacity. The total number of ship-type containers in this project reaches 24,100 boxes, equipped with a hybrid desulfurization device, and adopts the world's latest green environmental protection, high efficiency, energy saving and safety technology design. Among them, the unique small bulbous bow scheme, large-diameter propellers and energy-saving ducts, etc., make the ship’s fast performance and low energy consumption fully reflected. In addition, the ship is also equipped with a double-tower fixed water cannon fire extinguishing system, which greatly improves the fire safety performance of the deck.
The ultra-large container ship is the core strategic product of Jiangnan Shipbuilding. It has undertaken and delivered a number of ships including conventional power and dual-fuel power for a number of mainstream liner companies. Jiangnan Shipbuilding's rich construction experience and excellent product quality have been highly recognized by customers. In this project, Jiangnan Shipbuilding will work hand in hand with Hudong Zhonghua and China Shipbuilding Corporation to give full play to the advantages of collaboration and strictly follow the standards to ensure the high-quality construction and on-time delivery of the 24,000TEU ultra-large container ship. Jiangnan Shipbuilding will also carry out more cooperation with Bank of Communications Leasing in the future.
